Report a Bug

This guide shows how you send a report from any NUU app, with the page around you. At the end you have an open report in NUU Experience.

A report is for something that went wrong. Use Offer a Suggestion when you want a new capability, not a repair.

Prerequisites

  • You have a NUU account.
  • You are signed in to the NUU app where the bug happened.
  • You can name what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.

Stay on the broken page

Do not leave the page before you report. The form captures where you are. It sends the page address with the report. A picture of the page is on by default.

If you move to another page first, the report describes that new page. Staff then cannot see the original context.

Open the report form

Open your account menu in that app. Choose the action that reports a bug.

You must be signed in. If you are not, the action is not there.

Describe the problem

Give a short title. The title should name the problem in one line.

Then write the details. Say what you did. Say what you expected. Say what happened instead. Include anything that makes the bug easy to repeat.

A picture of the page is included by default. Leave it on unless the picture would hide the bug or show something you must not send. If the picture cannot be taken, the text still goes. The success message says so.

Send the report

Send the form. A short success message appears. The form then closes.

The report is now open. It belongs to the app you were using. NUU Experience stores it under your account, with the page record.

If the app is not connected to NUU Experience, the send fails. Try again later, or tell staff.

Confirm it landed

Open NUU Experience. Open your reports. You should see the new row. It shows the title, the app, the open state, and the time you sent it.

Open the row to check the body and the picture. Add a comment if you find more detail after you sent it.
