About Workspaces
A workspace is the place you work in NUU Operations. There are two kinds. One is personal. The other is an organisation.
You sign in with your NUU account. The service then shows the workspaces you can open. You always have a personal workspace. You also have each organisation you belong to.
Personal and organisation
Your personal workspace is yours. Projects and deliverables you create there are not a team record.
An organisation workspace is shared. Members of that organisation see the same projects, deliverables, tasks, plans, and map.
You do not create an organisation from Operations. An owner adds you. After that, the organisation appears in your workspace list.
If your account belongs to no organisation yet, you still have the personal workspace. Ask an owner to add you when you need a team workspace.
Switching
You switch workspace from the product header. The rest of the product follows that choice.
Projects, deliverables, the backlog, the calendar, the map, and plans all belong to the active workspace.
Some surfaces do not belong to one workspace:
- Deadlines use one personal canvas. Rows from every organisation you belong to sit on that canvas. Each row still writes back to its own organisation.
- Activity follows the workspace you have open. It shows the feed for that workspace.
- Notifications collect across workspaces. Each row links to its own record.
- The changelog is the same in every workspace. It is about the product, not about one organisation.
Strikes live in the personal workspace. They are not a team list. If you open them from an organisation, the product sends you to your personal workspace.
What opens first
You can choose what opens when you return. You can open the last workspace you used. You can always open the personal workspace. That choice lives in settings.
Search also knows your workspaces. You can find a project, a deliverable, a subsection, or a task in the active workspace. You can also find an organisation and switch to it.
Why the split exists
Delivery work has two scales.
Team delivery needs a shared graph. That graph lives in an organisation. Everyone sees the same closer. Everyone sees the same map.
Personal execution is not the same job. Strikes and the personal deadline canvas are for you. They let you run a day across organisations without mixing those organisations into one team record.
Keep the two scales distinct. Put shared delivery in the organisation. Put your own day in the personal workspace.
