About Addresses
Every project, deliverable, section, task, deployment, and notepad in NUU Operations has an address. An address is one line of text that names one record.
The form
An address has this form:
@v1/<org>/<kind>/<key>#ops<org>is the slug of the organisation. In your personal workspace, it is your handle.<kind>is the kind of record:project,deliverable,section,task,deployment, ornotepad.<key>is a name or an id. A project has a name. Most other records use their id.#opssays that the record lives in NUU Operations.
Some examples:
@v1/acme/project/website#ops
@v1/acme/project/website/deliverable/spring-launch#ops
@v1/acme/section/k57a2bq9w0c1xr8d#ops
@v1/acme/task/j97f1pqz3m2ke6tn#opsA deliverable with a name has its project in the address. A deliverable with no name uses its id.
Copy an address
Open the record. When its menu has Copy address, choose it: the address is now on your clipboard. Not every record has this menu item yet. An agent gives you the address of each record that it shows or makes, and ops prints it on each line.
Paste it where you want to point at the record: a note, a message, or a request to an agent.
Who uses addresses
People use an address to point at one exact record. A title can change, and two records can have the same title. An address is unique.
Agents use addresses too. When you give an agent an address, it finds the record at once. The tools of agents give addresses back, so an agent can point you at the record it changed. See Work with Agents.
