Keep Your Personal Organisation in Step

This guide shows you how your personal organisation stays aligned with your profile and your account. At the end you know where to edit your name and picture, and what NUU Organisations will copy.

Prerequisites

  • You have a NUU account.
  • You are signed in to NUU Organisations.
  • You can open NUU Profiles if you want to change your public person page.

You do not create the personal organisation. The service creates it when you first sign in. You have exactly one.

Open your personal organisation

Sign in. Open your organisation list. The personal organisation sits first.

Open it. You see your current name and picture. The page tells you that this is your personal organisation. It does not offer invites, roles, labels, or a public page.

Edit the person, not the organisation

Your name and picture do not live in NUU Organisations. They come from two other products.

  • NUU Profiles holds your public person page. Edit that page when you want the world to see a different name, picture, or story about you.
  • NUU account settings hold your sign-in name, picture, and email. Edit those when the account itself is wrong.

Do not look for an edit view on the personal organisation. That view is blocked. The product sends you to the profile and the account instead.

See Personal and Team Organisations.

What NUU Organisations copies

When you sign in, the service copies your current name, email, and picture onto every membership you hold. Team organisations then show that identity in their members lists.

The copy happens when you use NUU Organisations while signed in. If you change your account and you do not sign in again, team lists may still show the old name until you return.

Your personal organisation follows the same identity. It is not a second profile. It is you as a group of one.

What stays in NUU Organisations

Team work stays here. Create team organisations for shared work. Invite people there. Give those organisations public pages if you want.

Your personal organisation stays private. It never appears on the browse screen. Other NUU products can still point at it as your personal group.

If a team lists you, that row is a membership. A label on that row is team data. It is not your profile. An admin of that team sets it. See Invite Members and Set Roles.

Check that you are in step

After you edit NUU Profiles or your account, sign in to NUU Organisations again. Open your personal organisation. Confirm the name and picture. Open a team organisation that you belong to. Confirm that the members list shows the same person.

If the picture is still old, wait and sign in again. The copy runs on sign-in, not while you edit the other products.
