Personal and Team Organisations
NUU Organisations treats a person and a team as two kinds of the same thing. Both are organisations. They do not work the same way. The split is the reason the product can serve both individuals and groups.
Why two kinds exist
Other NUU products need a group to attach work to. A person working alone still needs that group. The personal organisation is that group. You do not create it. The service creates it when you first sign in.
A team, a lab, or a collective is different. Several people share it. Someone must create it. Someone must invite the others. That is a team organisation.
One person can belong to many organisations. You always have exactly one personal organisation. You can create or join many team organisations.
Personal organisation
A personal organisation belongs to you alone.
- You are the owner.
- You cannot invite members.
- You cannot turn on a public page.
- You cannot edit its public profile inside NUU Organisations.
Its name and picture come from your NUU profile and your NUU account. If those change, the personal organisation follows them. The public face of a person still lives in NUU Profiles. See Keep Your Personal Organisation in Step.
Think of the personal organisation as a private handle for "you as a group of one". Other NUU products can point at it. The world does not browse it.
Team organisation
A team organisation is for shared work.
You create it with a name and a slug. You become the owner. Then you invite people by email. Members hold a role. Admins can add labels. Admins can edit the public page and the two visibility switches.
A team organisation can stay private. Members still see it in their list. The browse screen does not show it until an admin makes the page public.

What you see in your list
When you sign in, you see every organisation you belong to. The personal organisation sits first. Team organisations follow. Each team row shows your role and how many members the organisation has.
Open the personal organisation to see that it is yours, and to go to NUU Profiles or account settings. Open a team organisation to see members, invitations, and the public page tools.
Why the rules are strict
The product rejects team actions on a personal organisation. Invite, label, public page, and public roster all fail there. That is not an accident.
A personal organisation is not a small team. It is the person. If you need other people, create a team organisation. Do not try to grow the personal one.
The same rule runs the other way. A team organisation does not replace a profile. People still have profiles. The team is the group around them.
